Briana Wright

Therapist

My approach to therapy includes a system-oriented, attachment-based, and mindfulness (brain/body connection) approach. Meaning that when I sit down with a client(s) we will consider how varying systems such as (family, work, political, romantic systems, etc) come to inform our human experience.

I am originally from Texas, spending most of my developing years growing up on an ARMY base. The ARMY base afforded me a culturally rich experience, as I regularly engaged with folks from varying cultural, ethnic, and racial identities.

I moved to Colorado to obtain my Masters of Arts in Counseling because the program aligned with my desire to offer counseling services from a multicultural perspective. After graduating, I stayed in Colorado to connect with and support folks from varying cultural backgrounds as I recognized a significant gap in counseling resources for folks who have been pushed to the margins in Colorado.

My approach to therapy includes a system-oriented, attachment-based, and mindfulness (brain/body connection) approach.  Meaning that when I sit down with a client(s) we will consider how varying systems such as (family, work, political, romantic systems, etc) come to inform our human experience. Developing self-awareness, understanding, and compassion for our interpersonal and relationship patterns, identities, survival strategies, and emotions.I invite folks to join me who have been curious about their ways of being and seek more flexibility and balance in their lives.

personal statement

I became a therapist to support folks in developing tools and knowledge to navigate the inevitable challenges we face as humans. I believe the more understanding and integration we develop within ourselves, for our experience and ways of being, the more health, and wellness we experience in our minds and bodies. My areas of focus include navigating low-self esteem, dating/relationships/marriage issues, body image issues, challenges with life transitions, adult parent-child dynamics, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, emotional awareness, sex/intimacy issues, racial/cultural identity processing, and women issues.
