René Foster is a lady who loves the Lord and is committed to serving Him by serving others.I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech Disorders, and a Master of Arts in Counseling with emphasis on children.  Combining the skills, I’ve learned in these two disciplines I enjoy serving adults and youth through counseling. In 1991 I joined the inner city staff of Campus Crusade for Christ now called Cru, where I have served in the inner cities of Chicago, IL and Atlanta, GA as an inner city missionary.  While serving in the Atlanta I saw the need for a counselor who those in the inner city felt comfortable with and understood by.  In 2002 I began my graduate studies while working full time as the S.A.Y. Yes! (Save America’s Youth) City Coordinator.  In 2006 I graduated with my Master of Counseling.  I continued to serve those in the inner city of Atlanta as the S.A.Y. Yes! City Coordinator as well as provided affordable counseling services through one of our partner churches. In 2017, I left Cru staff, and relocated back to Colorado Springs, where I grew up, so I could help care for my aging mother.  Since being in Colorado Springs, I have worked at Two Cor, Griffith Center and Consultants for Children in order to earn the needed hours to move from LPCC status to getting my LPC license.  I have also taken classes in pursuit of a LAC license. When I am not working as a counselor or helping my mother, I enjoy serving my community as a member of the Hillside Advisory Team.  As a HAT member I have been able to help provide funding for organizations serving families in the Hillside Community.  I also enjoy helping others to grow in their relationship with Christ by teaching Bible study through my local church.

personal statement

I am a lady who loves the Lord and am committed to serving Him by serving people.  I am passionate about serving underserved youth and adults by helping them come to a place of emotional and physical resilience and wellness.  I encourage and build up individuals while incorporating games to teach life skills and principles, particularly with youth.  Through a cognitive behavioral approach, I seek to understand the underlying causes that drive behaviors.  In partnership therapist and patient work together on goals patients wish to accomplish.
