Rikki Moore is a Colorado native licensed therapist who values the journey of becoming and discovering self especially within communities of color. She is the owner of I am Becoming Counseling and also is a member of Therapist of Color Collaborative, an organization that focuses on offering therapeutic services to communities of color. Rikki graduated from Regis University with a Master’s in Clinical Counseling. She is certified Integrative Gestalt therapist and has emphasis in EMDR therapy.

It is her belief that during life’s journey we all experiences hardships and situations that present the complexities of life. As life presents itself, it is imperative that the wholeness of self is encouraged through acknowledgment of the pieces of self. Rikki strives to create a therapeutic space where becoming is the process of aligning with growth and allowing the journey of self. It is her belief that we are always evolving into who we are to become; and at times it is important to have an environment that allows for discovery.

Much of Rikki’s work is with teens, college students, young adults and couples experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and seeking emotional regulation/intelligence. Rikki is a wife and mother of two and is honored to be a part of her client’s process of becoming.

personal statement

"I believe as beings we all move through life continuously being and becoming. This can be explained by the process of metamorphosis. This particular cycle creates the change of form or the nature of a thing, and in the right environment a caterpillar becomes a butterfly. Along the journey we have experiences, hardships, and situations that present the complexities of life. As life presents itself, wholeness of self is encouraged through acknowledgment of the pieces of self. To be whole, we need to give voice to our parts, learned behaviors, and emotions. Becoming is the process of aligning with growth and allowing the journey of self. It is my belief that we are always evolving into who we are to become; and at times it is important to have an environment that allows for discovery."

Areas of Focus: Teens, College Students, Young Adults, and Couples; Trauma specific, Anxiety/Depression with a learned behavior and emotional regulation perspective.
